Product line 03

Frozen and convenience food for retail and HoReCa

Frozen formats for retail freezers and for kitchens that need a consistent portion. Shipped in reefer at minus 18, consolidated with any other frozen line.

The line

A different regime, not just a different product

Frozen is the one line that cannot share a container with anything else we carry. It runs at minus 18, and chilled or ambient goods loaded beside it would freeze.

That is why it sits apart from meat and charcuterie even though several items in it are meat. If frozen is a small part of your order, tell us early, because it usually decides whether you are booking one container or two.

These are meat products, filed by how they travel

A frozen burger and a chilled salami clear customs under the same veterinary logic but load under completely different rules. We group by the rule that constrains the shipment, which is temperature.

What is in the line

Three product groups, all deep frozen

Most items are available in more than one format, so the pack weight and case count are confirmed against your order rather than fixed here.

Frozen and convenience product groups, with origin, storage regime and available formats
Product group Detail Origin Storage Formats
Frozen burgers Beef, chicken and mixed patties, portion controlled Spain, PolandFrozen, -18 Interleaved retail pack, bulk catering case
Frozen sandwiches Filled and finished, ready to heat SpainFrozen, -18 Individually wrapped retail, catering case
Frozen wraps Filled and rolled, ready to heat SpainFrozen, -18 Individually wrapped retail, catering case
Pack weights, case counts and pallet configuration

These are confirmed per order and per manufacturer, because nearly every item above exists in several formats and the right one depends on whether it is going to a retail shelf or a kitchen. Ask for the specification sheet on any group and we will send the exact pack data before you quote your own customer. Prices are quoted per order, never listed, because they move with volume, Incoterm and destination.

Producers on this line

Frozen convenience is produced to order across several of the manufacturers in our portfolio, and which factory runs your specification depends on the format and the volume. We confirm the producer with the quotation rather than listing it here, because the answer genuinely changes per order.

Documents for this category

Frozen still clears as a product of animal origin

Freezing changes the logistics, not the customs category. The veterinary requirement is the same, and the cold chain record becomes more important, not less.

  • Veterinary health certificate Required for every consignment of products of animal origin. Issued for the specific load, the specific establishment numbers and the specific destination.
  • EUR1 movement certificate Establishes preferential origin where the trade agreement between the EU and your country provides for it, which is usually what makes the duty calculation work.
  • Manufacturer certification Food safety certification is held by the producing establishment, not by us. We tell you which manufacturer holds what for the items on your list.
  • Unbroken cold chain evidence Temperature records travel with the consignment. A frozen load that has warmed in transit is a rejection at the border, so this is the document set we are strictest about.
We issue export documents. We do not hold producer certificates.

It is a distinction your authority will make, so we make it too. VLC TRADE GROUP SL is the exporter of record and prepares the export documentation. IFS, BRC, ISO 22000, HACCP, halal and kosher belong to the manufacturer and to the individual product.

Frozen loads on its own

Minus 18 for the whole box

Everything in the container sits at the same temperature. There is no partition, so frozen cannot be combined with chilled or ambient goods.

It is the deciding factor in your order

If you want frozen plus chilled plus ambient, that is three regimes. We tell you at quotation stage what that means in containers and in cost.

Long routes suit frozen well

Shelf life is measured in months rather than days, so the Central Asian routes that are marginal for chilled goods are straightforward for frozen.

Portion control is the reason HoReCa buys it

A kitchen buying frozen patties is buying a consistent portion and a predictable food cost, so specify the gram weight you need when you send your list.

Questions we get

Frozen and convenience, answered

What is the minimum order?

One full container. It does not have to be one product. You can mix this line with any other line we carry into the same container, which is what most of our buyers do.

Can frozen goods share a container with chilled or ambient products?

No. A container runs at one temperature. Frozen at minus 18 would freeze chilled goods and damage most ambient ones, so a mixed-regime order means more than one container. We flag this before you commit.

Do frozen products need the same certificates as fresh meat?

Yes. Freezing changes how the goods travel, not what they are. Products of animal origin need a veterinary health certificate for the consignment either way, plus EUR1 where preferential origin applies.

What shelf life do the frozen lines carry?

Months rather than days, which is what makes frozen practical on the longer road and rail routes. Exact shelf life is per item and per producer and comes with the specification sheet.

What does it cost?

Price is quoted per order, because it moves with volume, Incoterm and destination. Send your product list and your destination country and we come back with a quote, a loading plan and the document set.

Next step

Send the list and the destination country

That is enough for us to come back with a loading plan, the documents your border will want, and a price against your actual order.
