Snacks and confectionery from Spain
Baked snacks and picos, nuts, jellies and chocolate. Ambient, light, and the easiest line to add to an order that is already going.
The line
High margin, high pallet density, ambient
Snacks and confectionery are the line that fills the gaps in a container profitably. They are light, they are ambient, and the retail margin is better than on most of what we ship.
They are also the impulse category, which means the buyer is a supermarket rather than a HoReCa wholesaler, and the packaging and language on the pack matter more here than anywhere else in the range.
It ships ambient, but a container crossing a hot region in summer can exceed what chocolate tolerates. On those routes and in those months we say so and adjust the timing or the format.
What is in the line
Four product groups, all ambient
Most items are available in more than one format, so the pack weight and case count are confirmed against your order rather than fixed here.
| Product group | Detail | Origin | Storage | Formats |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Baked snacks and picos | Savoury baked snacks in seasoned varieties | Spain | Ambient | Retail bag, multipack, catering case |
| Nuts | Almonds and mixed nuts, roasted and salted | Spain | Ambient | Retail bag, jar, catering case |
| Jellies and gums | Sugared and glazed, single and mixed | Spain | Ambient | Retail bag, bulk case, counter display |
| Chocolate and pralines | Boxed pralines and bars | Spain | Ambient, temperature sensitive | Gift box, retail bar, counter display |
These are confirmed per order and per manufacturer, because nearly every item above exists in several formats and the right one depends on whether it is going to a retail shelf or a kitchen. Ask for the specification sheet on any group and we will send the exact pack data before you quote your own customer. Prices are quoted per order, never listed, because they move with volume, Incoterm and destination.

Manufacturers in this line
Four producers
Spanish snack and confectionery manufacturing, covering savoury baked, nuts, sugar confectionery and chocolate.
Which of these we can ship into your market depends on the representation agreement in place there. Tell us your country with your list and we will confirm brand by brand before you quote anything to your own customer.
Documents for this category
Plant origin, plus the label
The customs side is light. The labelling side is heavier than on any other line, because these products go straight onto a retail shelf in front of a consumer.
- Phytosanitary certificate For products of plant origin, issued by the competent Spanish authority for the consignment.
- EUR1 movement certificate Establishes preferential origin where the trade agreement between the EU and your country provides for it, which is usually what makes the duty calculation work.
- Allergen and ingredient declaration Nuts, milk, soy and gluten all appear across this line. The declaration is set at production and has to match your market's rules, so it is confirmed with the order.
- Label language for retail Several destinations require consumer-facing labelling in the local language. Where that applies, it is a production decision, not a sticker at the border.
It is a distinction your authority will make, so we make it too. VLC TRADE GROUP SL is the exporter of record and prepares the export documentation. IFS, BRC, ISO 22000, HACCP, halal and kosher belong to the manufacturer and to the individual product.

How it fits a container
Light, so it fills space not weight
The natural partner for dense heavy goods. A container of cans plus snacks reaches weight and volume at roughly the same time, which is what you want.
Format drives the pallet
Bagged snacks are mostly air. Expect volume to be the constraint and specify the case configuration when you order.
Watch chocolate in summer
Route and timing matter for the chocolate part of an order. We will flag it rather than let it arrive bloomed.
Easy to add late
Because it is ambient and light, snacks are usually what we use to top up a container that has space left after the main lines are loaded.
Questions we get
Snacks and confectionery, answered
What is the minimum order?
One full container. It does not have to be one product. You can mix this line with any other line we carry into the same container, which is what most of our buyers do.
Can I add snacks to an order that is mostly something else?
Yes, and it is usually the smart way to buy them. Snacks are ambient and light, so they fill the space left over once heavier lines have hit the weight limit. It is the cheapest volume in the container.
Does chocolate survive the journey?
On most routes and most of the year, yes. On a summer sailing through a hot region it is a real risk, and we will tell you when the timing is wrong rather than ship it and hope.
Do the packs need to be in my language?
In several of our markets, yes, for anything going to a consumer shelf. That is decided at production, so tell us the destination when you order rather than after.
What does it cost?
Price is quoted per order, because it moves with volume, Incoterm and destination. Send your product list and your destination country and we come back with a quote, a loading plan and the document set.
Next step
Send the list and the destination country
That is enough for us to come back with a loading plan, the documents your border will want, and a price against your actual order.
