Still wine across red, white and rosé, plus cava, from Spanish producers. Ambient, and consolidates with the rest of an ambient load once the excise side is in place.

The line with an extra layer of paperwork
Wine and cava clear differently from everything else we ship. Alcohol carries excise, and excise means an accompanying document regime on top of the normal export set.
It is entirely routine once it is set up, and it is the reason a lot of general food importers do not carry alcohol. If you already have the licence on your side, we can supply the Spanish end without you adding another supplier relationship.
Importing alcohol needs authorisation on your side in every one of our markets, and it is separate from a general food import licence. We will tell you what the Spanish end requires, but the destination licence is yours to hold.

These are confirmed per order and per manufacturer, because nearly every item above exists in several formats and the right one depends on whether it is going to a retail shelf or a kitchen. Ask for the specification sheet on any group and we will send the exact pack data before you quote your own customer. Prices are quoted per order, never listed, because they move with volume, Incoterm and destination.

Wine is the one category where the buyer holds the import licence and pays the excise, so it is the one where knowing the producer matters most.

Excise sits on top of the normal set
Everything the other lines need, plus the alcohol regime. This is the part to settle first, because it takes longer than the rest of the order.
- Excise accompanying documentation Alcohol moves under a duty regime. The accompanying document set is prepared for the shipment and the destination, and it is the item with the longest lead time in a wine order.
- EUR1 movement certificate Establishes preferential origin where the trade agreement between the EU and your country provides for it, which is usually what makes the duty calculation work.
- Certificate of origin and analysis Wine consignments commonly need a certificate of origin and a laboratory analysis certificate in addition to the standard export documents. Which ones depends on the destination.
- Your import licence Held by you, not by us. Every market we ship to licenses alcohol import separately from food. We cannot issue it and we will ask you to confirm you hold it before we quote.
It is a distinction your authority will make, so we make it too. VLC TRADE GROUP SL is the exporter of record and prepares the export documentation. IFS, BRC, ISO 22000, HACCP, halal and kosher belong to the manufacturer and to the individual product.

Practical notes
Glass is heavy
A container of bottled wine reaches its weight limit well before it fills. Expect the load plan to look emptier than you think it should.
Bag-in-box changes the maths
Lower weight per litre and much better volume efficiency. For markets buying on price rather than presentation it is often the better format.
Temperature is a quality question, not a safety one
Wine ships ambient, but extreme heat in transit affects quality. On summer sailings we route and time accordingly.

What is the minimum order?
One full container. It does not have to be one product. You can mix this line with any other line we carry into the same container, which is what most of our buyers do.
What licences do I need to import wine?
An alcohol import authorisation in your own country, which is separate from a general food import licence in every market we serve. You hold it, not us. We prepare the Spanish export side, including the excise accompanying documents, certificate of origin and analysis certificate where required.
Can wine travel in the same container as food?
Physically yes, it is ambient and it loads alongside other ambient goods. Whether your customs regime allows a mixed consignment containing excise goods is a question for your side, and it is worth answering before we build the loading plan.
Do you supply bag-in-box?
Yes, alongside standard 750 ml bottles. Bag-in-box is significantly more efficient on weight and volume per litre, which matters on a long route.
What does it cost?
Price is quoted per order, because it moves with volume, Incoterm and destination. Send your product list and your destination country and we come back with a quote, a loading plan and the document set.
